Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information LinkUpX collects, why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights and choices available to you.

This Privacy Policy applies to the LinkUpX website, web application, and mobile apps (together, the “Service”). It is written to give you a clear, accurate picture of our data practices — not to bury them in boilerplate. If you have questions after reading it, contact our privacy team using the details at the bottom of this page.

01Information we collect

Account & profile data — name, email, password (hashed), role, industry, skills, goals, headline, photo, and any other information you add to your profile or startup workspace.

Content you provide — messages, meeting recordings and summaries you generate, community posts, event registrations, marketplace listings and orders, and documents you upload (for example, to the Deal Room).

AI interactions — prompts and conversation history with the AI Advisor, used to generate responses and, if you consent, to improve the relevance of future recommendations.

Connected accounts — if you sign in or link Google, LinkedIn, or GitHub, we receive the profile fields those providers share under your authorization (typically name, email, and public profile details).

Payment data — subscription and billing details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Razorpay; we receive confirmation of payment and plan status, not full card or bank details.

Technical & usage data — IP address, device and browser type, log data, pages viewed, feature usage, and cookies described in our Cookie Policy.

Push notification tokens — device tokens registered with Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver notifications you have enabled.

02How we use information

  • Operate core features: authentication, profiles, messaging, meetings, communities, events, and the marketplace;
  • Personalize the Discover feed, matches, Market Pulse insights, and AI Advisor recommendations based on your profile and activity;
  • Process subscriptions, enforce usage limits tied to your plan, and send billing communications;
  • Send transactional and, with your consent, marketing communications and push notifications;
  • Maintain the safety, security, and integrity of the Service, including fraud and abuse prevention;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms & Conditions; and
  • Analyze aggregated, de-identified usage trends to improve the product.

04How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:

  • With other members, limited to what your profile visibility settings and direct interactions (connections, messages, deal room access) expose;
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf under contract — for example, cloud hosting, Firebase (push notifications and mobile infrastructure), Razorpay (payments), and our AI infrastructure providers (to generate AI Advisor responses);
  • For legal reasons, if required to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of LinkUpX, our members, or the public;
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your information; and
  • With your direction, when you explicitly choose to share information — for example, granting an investor access to a Deal Room document.

05International data transfers

LinkUpX and its service providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms recognized under applicable data protection law.

06Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, tax, security, or backup purposes.

07Security

We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring — designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; see our Security page for more detail and how to report a concern.

08Your rights & choices

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, restrict or object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. You can exercise most of these directly from Settings → Account (edit profile, download data, delete account) or by emailing info@linkupx.in. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Residents of the EEA/UK may lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority. California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

09Children's privacy

LinkUpX is intended for professional use by adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-product notice before they take effect and update the “Last updated” date above.

To exercise a privacy right or ask a question, contact our privacy team at info@linkupx.in.
